Waiver and Discounts

Environmental Reports is committed to supporting researchers from all backgrounds, especially those from lowand middle-income countries, by providing opportunities for fee waivers and discounts on Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Full Waivers

Authors from low-income countries may be eligible for a full waiver of APCs. This ensures that financial limitations do not prevent the publication of high-quality research. Eligible countries are defined according to the World Bank’s classification of low-income economies.

Discounts

We offer discounted APC rates for authors from middle-income countries or those facing financial constraints. Discounts are also available for:

• Early-career researchers.
• Authors submitting high-impact or ground-breaking research.
• Authors affiliated with institutions that have established agreements with Environmental Reports.

How to Apply

Authors who wish to apply for a waiver or discount should indicate their request at the time of submission and provide relevant justification or documentation (e.g., proof of affiliation with a low-income country). All requests are handled on a case-by-case basis, and the editorial team will inform the authors of the outcome before the review process begins.
