Licensing, Copyright, and Author Self-Archiving Policies

Environmental Reports aims to promote the dissemination of knowledge while respecting the rights of authors and the integrity of published research. Below are our policies regarding licensing, copyright, and self-archiving.

Licensing
Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors will be required to grant Environmental Reports a license to publish the article under a Creative Commons license (e.g., CC BY 4.0). This license allows others to share, adapt, and build upon the work, provided proper attribution is given to the original authors. Authors can choose the specific licensing terms upon acceptance of their manuscript.

Copyright
While authors retain ownership of their copyright, by submitting a manuscript, they grant Environmental Reports the right to publish the article and distribute it in any format (print and digital). The journal will ensure that the article is available for public access according to the chosen Creative Commons license.

Author Self-Archiving
Authors are permitted to self-archive their manuscripts under the following conditions:
Authors may share the preprint version of their manuscript on personal websites, institutional repositories, and recognized preprint servers prior to submission to Environmental Reports.
After the manuscript is accepted for publication, authors may post the accepted version (post-peer review) on their personal or institutional repositories, provided that a link to the published version in Environmental Reports is included.
Authors may not share the final published version (the version of record) in any form, including PDF or HTML, without express permission from Environmental Reports.

Compliance with Funding Agency Requirements
Authors are encouraged to comply with the self-archiving policies of their funding agencies. Environmental Reports supports initiatives that promote open access and encourages authors to check the specific requirements of their funding bodies regarding self-archiving and open access compliance.

Author Self-Archiving
Environmental Reports is a RoMEO green journal. The Journal allows the authors to self-archive pre-print, post-print, and publishers’ versions of the article in any OAI-compliant repository.
By adhering to these policies, Environmental Reports ensures a balance between open access to research and the rights of authors while promoting the widest dissemination of scholarly work.
